THAILAND AND SHANGHAI

What can I say?

Thailand took pieces of My heart.

Shanghai really put the world in perspective.

Both places opened my mind and heart more than when I first arrived in NYC.

In Thailand, we stayed in The Tonsai and Railay Beach area near Krabi. We were lucky enough to be there on SongKran, or as Westerners know it, Thai New Year.

Colored paint is placed on faces, arms, legs and cloths to signify the past years grievances, sins or bad memories. After applying paint, its an all out water battle with buckets, trash cans, bottles and water guns. The water cleans the soul of all negative energy, refreshing and jump starting the soul into the next year. It was one of the best new years parties I've ever attended...

And I live in NYC.

Unfortunately, this was the Vivitar's last go.

The water and the fast shutter speeds made it into a paperweight. I have to say, this was the best possible exit for my dear friend.

You were my first. You will be missed.

Disclaimer: the next 2 Gallery slideshows are not film.

These were shot on a 5Dmkii and a 24-105mm f:4 L and a 70-200mm f:2.8 L.

I broke out of my shell to shoot some digital photos, Still fully manual. It's not film, but beautiful nonetheless. Big thanks to Mark Stetson and Brian Bass for lending me this package. It was a blessing in disguise as the Vivitar crapped out and I had a backup, but then the backup failed. SOrry Mark... SOme things are just meant for my memories... Right Mykie?
